The BOINC FAQ Service (BFS) goes through an expansion. I have requested that a Spanish and French section is added to them and for that I am looking for volunteers to help us out. One Spanish writer in the form of Logan (over at Seti) has accepted my invitation offer already, but I would like to have one more and 2 French writers. Now I am not going to tell you what needs to be done if you become a writer for the BFS. You can start your own FAQs or see which ones are there already and translate them, or update out-of-date ones. Good knowledge of BOINC is really wanted, as well as you being able to translate the original FAQ into your own language in a clear and concise manner. I wouldn't be able to check your work as my language skills stop short on Dutch, English and a little German. If you want to help out, please post in this thread or PM me. Thank you. |

We have two Spanish writers now. Logan and David M. are translating the FAQs where necessary and hopefully writing new ones. While we're still looking for two French writers, it would appear we also do a Czech service soon. Or at least, Zelvuska has offered translating the FAQs into Czech. If the database can do it, we'll be accepting that. It's a good way to check if it can also do Chinese and Japanese, something we plan for the future. With thanks all. |

Considering the recent expansion of the BOINC website into a "User Style" MediaWiki, have you guys considered merging the BOINC FAQ Service into the user documentation? One Unified website with all the information a user needs in one place; http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/index.php/User_Manual This would greatly increase the number of people that could contribute to the FAQ's and allow for even better organisation of the material and translation into many languages! The projects list has been expanded; http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/index.php/Project_list John. | Irelandboinc.com | PaddysInSpace.com |

I haven't spoken to Neil about this yet, so I can't talk for him. As far as I am concerned, every one of the writers with access may copy stuff to the Wiki if he or she finds it necessary. Anyone on the outside may ask for permission. The BFS will stay on their own as they are a bit easier to overlook than any Wiki can be. |

Sure, I posted a message to ask Neil what he thinks; http://www.mundayweb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=402 John. | Irelandboinc.com | PaddysInSpace.com |
