I've just installed Boinc on a Fedora 8 PC. I used the normal add software menu option. All seemed to go well. As another post said that the client is not started, I issued the suggested command. Using the PS command, I see the client is now running. I clicked on the manager icon installed on the system tools menu. Running the manager gets the cannot connect to client message. I went under the select computer option and entered localhost and the password in the cfg file. I was then able to connect and get setup with a project. However, every time that I run the manager I have to go through the whole process again. I have other installations that don't require that. Any idea what might be gone? |
