I looked for troubleshooting error messages to the BOINIC Manager - but cannot find anything.

I get this error message anytime I try to go to the web for any info. Is this a Firefox WinXP PRO thing?

Can anyone explain this error and how to fix?

The name of the beast is BOINC, not BIONIC. Perhaps that this helps you in your searches next time. In the mean time set up the default browser in Windows.
