Hi, I'd recommend that you revert to 5.10.45 (just copy back your backup of the original installation). The 6.1.x version is for testing only, and is not recommended for use. |

As already mentioned, BOINC 6 is being tested, but isn't quite ready for general use. It does seem to be getting close, but more testing is needed. If you would like to help out you might consider joining the alpha test squad. Today I change my version from 5.10.45 to 6.1.12 for view futute to projetct... The whole point of 6.1.12 was testing if the data was migrated correctly or not. Looks like it's not, thanks for testing... :) Seriously, stay away from 6.x until it's officially released... |

I just installed 6.1.12. Before anyone tells me to go back. I ALWAYS install the beta to help test. Usually I find them very stable with little or no issues. However, with 6.1.12, I tried to install it with the data in a subdirectory under "My Documents/BOINC/Data" After that 6.1.12 could not connect to the local host. I had to uninstall. I tried to reinstall 6.1.12 with defaults. no luck. I had to completely uninstall, delete all files, delete all BOINC references in the registry and then I was able to reinstall 6.1.12 with defaults and it worked. The only other problem I have is periodically selecting a project on the projects tab, the commands stay grayed out not functional. selecting a second time activates them. Hopefully, these can be fixed in 6.1.X Thansk, |
