Fun with on-line translators. using this post at the Seti forums as an example, I put it in the four on-line translators that I have access to. With different outcomes. The garbled outcome: http://ets.freetranslation.com/ The firewall of Windows this defused but itself not if influences the "car-protect" of the antivirus. BOINC this paymaster. Is in their section of messages where those errors appear me. I have left BOINC and I have executed it again with the same result. My Internet connection functions correctly and nevertheless appears me periodicamente the notice: "Please it be connected to internet or specify a conexion by defect in Advanced/Options/Connections" http://www.tranexp.com:2000/Translate/result.shtml The firewall of windows esta deactivate but not itself whether prestigious the " auto - protector " of the antivirus. BERET esta habilitate. Is in her section of messages where me are appearing those flaws. He start of BERET and him I have returned to perform with one and the same result. E junction to Internet funciona faultlessly and albeit me is appearing periodicamente the warning : " please she connects to Internet or especifique one conexion around flaw at Advanced / Options / Junctions " http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_txt Firewall of deactivated but not Windows this if it influences " car-protect" of the anti-virus. Qualified BOINC this. It is in his section of messages where they appear to me those errors. I have left BOINC and it I have returned to execute with the same result. My connection to Internet works correctly and nevertheless it periodically appears to me the warning: " Please it conectese to Internet or it specifies a connection by defect in Advanced/Options/Conexiones" http://translate.google.com/translate_t The Windows Firewall is disabled but not if it affects the "auto-protect" antivirus. BOINC is enabled. In his message section where I appear those mistakes. He left BOINC and I re-run with the same result. My Internet connection is working properly and yet I get the nod warning: "Please Register or enter an internet connection default Advanced / Options / Connections" |

une boina = beret They are high fashion in the Basque country. Here's one for festivals: http://www.esflamenco.com/product/es20968643.html Or if your fashion sense and finances are more restricted, here are two jackets and a tartan beret all for 30 Euros, in good condition and still apparently unsold: http://www.segundamano.es/vi/10866380.htm?ca=8_s All eminently suitable for BOINCers. |

You didn't need to dress up and make a picture of yourself wearing a beret, Mo. :-D |

I have more good news. My school pupils who produced the German some of you so successfully deciphered further up this thread have achieved excellent grades. To celebrate their success I shall buy una boina and wear it at a jaunty angle to work in the autumn. |

My school pupils who produced the German some of you so successfully deciphered further up this thread have achieved excellent grades. Please pass them my congrats ;-) (it also belongs to you off course for bringing them that far!) (I'd personally never be self-confident (or patient?) enough to try to get any grade in German :o) To celebrate their success I shall buy una boina and wear it at a jaunty angle to work in the autumn. Adding to Jord, I hope you'll then show us an updated picture of yourself wearing una boina ;-) Peter |

What are the pink things tied in pairs with blue ribbons in the photo? Are they pigs' trotters (feet)? |

You dare to click Yes? Taken from an NES emulator |

I don't think I'd ever dare click Yes in this thread because you're never sure what anything means. I have to record shopping dialogues written by pupils, the action supposedly in a German-speaking country. I'm the shopkeeper, the pupil is the shopper. Here's the last part of one after the shopper has chosen some fruit: Miss (= me): Ok, ist diese alles. Shopper: Ja. Miss: Ok, das ist dreizehn und fünf neun pfunds. Shopper: Da ist fünfzehn pfunds. Miss: Da ist ein pfunds und veirzig und ein cent. Shopper: Danke. Miss: Danke, Komm wieder. Here are my questions to BOINCers. Should I continue to run this shop? Should I encourage all the shoppers to come back? Am I making a profit or losing money? |

You don't think it's strange though that they use pounds in the store? I'm still figuring out if they also pay with it... ;-) |

If I run a shop in Germany and specify prices in euros and cents, English shoppers offer that number of £, then I give the change in £ and cents, it could be quite profitable. Jorden, some of the French shops have different peculiarities eg: Shopper: faire vous avoir Etain m.s. thong? Miss: Wee. Voilà. ..... ..... Shopper: Ofwa! Miss: Ofwa! |

While I was recording more German dialogues this morning I realised how very useful they are. Some of them can be used almost without modification for BOINC volunteers (BV) to help German noobs (GN) on the forums. See how easy it is: GN: Kann/können/konnen du helfen bitter? BV: Ja/ya/yah, das ist was ich bin hier für. GN: Ich haben ein Problem. Ich kann/können/konnen ein Artikel nicht finden. BV: Hier es ist! GN: Danker. Auf weidersehen! BV: Haben ein gute Tag! |

This just had to go in here. Flicking through the Nightwish videos at Youtube, I came across these two extremely funny videos, both of the same song, but with misheard lyrics. See what you make of it. :-) Misheard Lyrics More Misheard Lyrics |
