Hi there
In settings I have marked that Boinc should be running only when I am not using my pc. Though I can see that when I am using it there is a lot of traffic going in and out of the firewall and the "guilty" program is Boinc. What is this??
I use the free firewall from Zonealarm.

BOINC Manager (boincmgr.exe), the client (boinc.exe) and the screen saver (boinc.scr) communicate with each other through TCP port 31416. It's this communicating that you see in Zone Alarm.

Just put the separate parts of BOINC in your Safe Zone and it should stop bugging you.
