That is their way of making sure not everyone can get on their project, possibly to make sure their servers aren't smothered. Hydrogen@Home has an invitation code as well, as do some other projects. You'd have to contact the project administrators first to get it.

BBC project

The BBC forum has recently been down intermittently along with members' account and model web pages. On a few separate days in July the BBC server has not exported credits to the stats sites. Tolu is looking into the problem.

If this happens again, BBC members who need to post about their models are welcome to register separately on the CPDN independent forum and post there.

Genetic Life has been off line for over 24 hours now. Does anyone know what happened to it?

Reisel sieve is gone again. This time for days. No webpage; nothing. If no one is going to be minding the store, why don't they provide a little warning so we're not out here wasting computer time on them? I'm dropping them.

Einstein@Home maintenance outage coming up:

Jul 28, 2008
The Einstein@Home project will be shutdown for approximately one day starting some time after 1700 UTC Friday. Leading up the project downtime we might not have enough work to send out to everyone as we are near the end of our S5R3 analysis. During the outage we will be upgrading the hardware for the main project server and starting the new S5R4 analysis run with a new dataset. Your patience is appreciated.

SETI's been denying uploads for a few days now...

I was lucky enough to get a whole 'whack' of work from my projects just before this happened.

I seem to have found the setting that keeps me in work- 2 days and 2 more for good luck.

Boy, can I pick 'em.

SETI's now uploaded. No work sent yet since last week, but all the uploads are gone. The server status shows all green.

Cosmology - same. No work sent and the server status is all green.

Milkyway - same. No work sent and all green.

lhc - just no work. There's a note to that effect on their page.

Predictor - no work in the foreseeable future.

Einstein - well, happy days are here! I have work and am crunching merrily.

Technically not an outage, but close to it anyway as it may seem like it to you:
CPDN has an IP address change happening.

There's a big change of IP address in progress, affecting OeRC only. This means that at some point you may see temporary outages as systems are changed over. Hopefully there will be very little disruption. The machines that you're most likely to see change are:

cpdnbeta.oerc
watermelon.oerc (old results site and cpdn website - if the re-direction is ever fixed)
daoloth.oerc (new results site)

Normally this could take 24 hours.

Has anyone else found Tanpaku to be MIA? One of my systems has a WU that completed OK, but has now gone overdue because it can't communicate with the website.

Likewise, attempts to connect to http://issofty17.is.noda.tus.ac.jp/ with a browser fail, and aiming a telnet client at issofty17.is.noda.tus.ac.jp port 80 yields no connection.

CPDN Beta (re Ageless's post 3 above this)

There's a big change of IP address in progress affecting OeRC which is the CPDN Beta address. This change is scheduled to take place at about 10.00 UTC on Friday 22 August. There may be some temporary outages as systems are changed over.

Ananas says
Under certain circumstances (not on all systems!), BOINC seems to cache the IPs forever.

So for some of us BOINC might require a restart after the changeover. Usually a PC restart is not necessary.

Apologies for the late notification of the exact time of the changeover.

What's going on with Superlink at Technion? They've been completely down for two days now. Even their website is down.

The project will be down while we work on the major problems facing the project right now, including work distribution, HR, and credit. We will be making work for a test application so we can test the new HR model.

LHC@home

From what they say in the last paragraph of this page, is it possible that they are planning ongoing work and possibly new applications for LHC@home?:
http://athome.web.cern.ch/athome/LHCathome/history.html

Based on the following information, the whole site and project went offline in the early hours of 25 August:
http://bluenorthernsoftware.com/scarecrow/lhcstats/index.html (See the 7-day graph and data table for Results in Progress.)

It would be appreciated if one of the guys at LHC@home would let us know what is going on.

mo.v is very good about letting us know what is happening at CPDN.

PS3GRID/GPUGRID

The server is down. I don't know what's wrong, and I am not going to know until Monday morning because the server is not were I can access on Sundays. They were doing electrical works on Monday, maybe they have messed something up.
Hopefully, people will have enough wus till then.

The Cosmology@Home server is off line, possibly due to a power-outage. Because of Labor Day it wasn't noticed until now. Scott is on his way to fix things.

Has any one got news on the outage for project Tanpaku? They have been down since Aug 18 and have posted the following message:

Dear all of TANPAKU volunteers,
