I am trying to register as a user from Montenegro (gained independence in June 2006, UN member since June 2006) - but there is no "Montenegro" available in the drop-down list of countries.

Users from Montenegro are forced to opt for the country "Serbia-Montenegro", which does not exist for almost a year and a half now.

The same problem is for users from Serbia - which is also a UN member.

Can this problem be corrected?

David Anderson changed this in the database. He added Montenegro and changed Serbia and Montenegro to Serbia only.

Do know that this change will only propagate to projects if and when they update their server software to the latest version.

Thank you for reporting this.

Jord, thank you for your prompt intervention.

Really surprised me with such a fast reaction.

Thanks also for the info on the possible delay in the propagation of the change to individual projects.

Hvala (thank you)!

Nikola

Actually, Montenegro is now listed by itself, but Serbia is listed as "Serbia and Montenegro". So DA or someone needs to edit the list one more time.

Fixed in [trac]changeset:13962[/trac] (along with something totally unrelated, as usual).

I see that Jelena and Vlada have asked the same question on the CPDN forum. I presume that when projects update their software, the change will automatically become effective?

Yes; a database upgrade (edit and run db_update.php) is needed too.

For the benefit of project admins and programmers who are referred to this thread. The database upgrade will simply make the two separate countries available. Members previously listed as S & M will then choose either Serbia or Montenegro themselves ie they will change their own personal details. Admins shouldn't choose for these members.

Could Nicolas please confirm that this is the correct procedure.

My previous post wasn't completely correct. CPDN programmer Milo says

The effect of performing those updates you mention will be to change the details of all existing users from Serbia and Montenegro to Serbia, in addition to fixing the menu for those who register in future.
I mention this so that everyone is forewarned when this happens.

I have now added this post to the News threads of the ClimatePrediction projects.

MEMBERS FROM SERBIA AND MONTENEGRO

Sebia and Montenegro were previously listed in members' personal preferences as one country. They are now (at last!) listed correctly as two separate countries.

However, all residents of Serbia and Montenegro are now automatically listed as residents of Serbia because the project administrators do not know who lives where. So residents of Montenegro need to change their country, selecting Montenegro from the drop-down menu. They should then open boinc manager, select the project and click Update.
