The web pages say GB... but there are people (on multiple project's boards) reporting that even though the web page says "allow BOINC to use 100GB", and they have say 80GB free, they're getting "not enough disk space" errors and being told to free up another few megabytes. Changing the pref and updating sometimes solves it, even if the change seems trivial. Someone suggested that BOINC Manager may be looking at MB while the web page says GB. ???

I have set my preferences to a figure that reflects the true amount of free disk space and have never had that problem.

this is most probably due to "leave at least X free" or "use no more than XX%" settings
