I installed thhis version of Linux on my new PC and downloaded the new 64 bit version 5.10.8.

I can only get the command line version of BOINC running. When I try and run boincmgr I get this error.

giles@cascade:~/BOINC$ sudo ./boincmgr
Password:
sudo: unable to execute ./boincmgr: No such file or directory
giles@cascade:~/BOINC$

It is there as when I do an ls it comes up.

giles@cascade:~/BOINC$ ls
account_abcathome.com.xml job_log_abcathome.com.txt
all_projects_list.xml locale
binstall.sh lockfile
boinc master_abcathome.com.xml
boinc_cmd projects
boincmgr run_client
boincmgr.16x16.png run_manager
boincmgr.32x32.png sched_reply_abcathome.com.xml
boincmgr.8x8.png sched_request_abcathome.com.xml
ca-bundle.crt slots
client_state_prev.xml statistics_abcathome.com.xml
client_state.xml stderrdae.txt
global_prefs.xml stdoutdae.txt
gui_rpc_auth.cfg time_stats_log

I get the same problem if I try and run run_manager.

giles@cascade:~/BOINC$ sudo ./run_manager
exec: 1: ./boincmgr: not found
giles@cascade:~/BOINC$

In the command line it downloaded 181 work units of ABC at Home but I can't see and option for no more work in the command line ???

Any help with these problems would be appreciated

G'day Dingo

Your second problem first, boinc_cmd lists --project url nomorework so I guess something like ./boinc_cmd --project http://abcathome.com nomorework would do the trick. Although managing the client from BOINCView is much easier :)

As for the first problem (just guessing here) check the permissions and ownership of boincmgr and make sure they are the same as for boinc.
