I'm a Java developer but I guess I can't write a BOINC project in Java because it would need a Java Virtual Machine. I didn't find the requirements to start writing a BOINC project ... ?
BOINC 7.2.42 (x86_64) on Linux Ubuntu 16.04 (64 Bit), AMD APU 7850K 3.7 GHz, 32 GB RAM.

Java seems to be the big problem of Boinc.
Java would solve most of the problems for inter-OS operability, but is not supported.

Any suggestions how to implement java workers into Boinc for every java-enabled platform without using jsmooth? Running a jar-file with parameters would be a nice option, but a native api for java would be much better!

As I found no soultion here, I'll drop the Boinc idea to implement here and switch to a java rmi soultion.

@Dentaku & Ricky: Did you do an Advanced search farther back in time? I found several threads about java, but since I'm not a java expert, I don't know if they are relevant for you.

Even if you could write science applications in Java, you still have to know C++ to write the required custom server components.
