Everything seems to be missing for non-moderators. Your red-x is missing as well. It's something that was broken while we got the PM function. The developers know about it, but don't yet know how to fix it.

SETI and SETI Beta both have the new PM function, but are showing headers/footers/red-x/edit.

Either there's a big difference between the SETI board and this board (which I doubt), or the developers have got access to a fixed version but haven't deployed it here yet.

PS 1: no, I'm not a moderator at SETI
PS 2: posting with no edit facility should do wonders for our typing skills!

I've been typing for 50 years. Neither my typing nor spelling got better with time.

Besides that, I always have something I want to add after I hit send. ;)

In an earlier thread on this subject, Jord suggested that the problem night be limited to IE.

I'm using IE7 on Win XP.

Still no edit function here.

It does appear to be an IE thing. I logged into my test account (with no privileges) and Firefox 2.0 is fine. It's broken in IE7.

Unfortunately my brother took his computer when he moved back to school (how rude of him) that I had him leave at IE6 and FF 1.5 (for the rare times I do web development). So I can't check those browsers.

Opera 9.20 is ok. Netscape 8.1.3 is ok as well. Not surprising as they are both using Gecko under the hood (as does Firefox).

This is a test post.
edit
The extra links were all missing after posting the above. I switched tabs on Slimbrowser (Which sits on IE6), when I came back the links reappeared.
re-edit
The switching of tabs had nothing to do with it, I was in the posting window when I got access to the edit post link.

I think I may only see them when the posting window is open.

Edit
Confirmed I only see the extra links when the message window is open.

I click reply to thread then I can access my post for editing and the other links such as + - and reply to post links.

I'm using Slimbrowser sitting on IE6.

BTW everything is missing - Message number, date of post - time of edit, etc.

It all works properly on the Seti Boards.
