Hello,

do you already know that this forum is using the logo and name of BOINC, and says in it's description:
What is Boinc??
Here you can read what boinc means
Boinc is a forum where you can download stuff.
From ED2K links, bittorrents and normal downloads over internet explorer!!
We have in those catagories, Games, Music, Movies and programs (and much more!!)
There is always pleasure in the Boinc cafe!! (only its in dutch!! Shock but we working on it if there are enough other countrys here!!)
I hope you know now to much from Boinc!! Have fun!! Very Happy

It's not that much frequented, and I don't know whether an official reprimand of the improper use of the BOINC trademark it worth it in this case, but I think you should at least know.

Did you send this to David Anderson as well? I know you hate emailing people... but he never looks here, you know? ;)

I've already sent him an email. Let's see if something happens. :)

Oh and thank you for the warning.

Update ;-)

The name "BOINC" has no legal protection
(it's not a trademark)
but the BOINC logo is copyrighted and can't
legally be used without permission.

If you find who's behind this, let me know and I'll
send them a threatening email.

So I sent back that Jeffrey Jacobs from Horst, Limburg, The Netherlands can be reached on thus and so hotmail address. The person is 17 and shouldn't put so many details on his website. ;-)
