I've been a Seti client since '99 and want to move to Boinc. But I've moved to a different ISP, and never updated my Seti file and can't remember my password. Seti will send my password to my old address, but that will only get rejected.

Not only that my Seti 3.08 was apparently disabled during the partial installation of Boinc Seti. Right now I've completed 5700 analyses and can't add to the number.

Any ideas on how to tie Boinc to my Seti acc't, recover my password, or get Seti 3.08 working again?

Thanks

Doug,

There are two distinct accounting systems. The one for the old "Classic" just counted work units. The new one counts Cobblestones. They will NEVER add to each other.

So, I have 61,000+ SETI@Home Classic work units completed. That is shown in my account data, I also have "n" cobblestones, that is also shown.

If you have the Classic numbers in your account data page, that is going to stay there ...

Not sure if I explained it well or not ...

Thanks, Paul,

For your answer to one of my questions.

But that brings up a new one. What are cobblestones :-)? A pointer to the appropriate page will do.

Doug,

Ah a learning experience for the student!

Click on the link by my signature, the one that says "BOINC-Wiki" ...

When the page comes up, on the left side there is a search box below the word "Google", enter Cobblestones there and press search ... :)

More stuff there than you want to know ...

Hello fellow data crunchers, I have a query that I would like answered if someone can. I am a member of a team with only myself and the founder of the team as members. The founder has unexpectantly passed away as of the 16/8/2005. I would like to take over the team and get a few others to join but as the founder is no longer with us team reponsibility was not transferred to another team member before he died. Is it possible to have the Boinc administrators transfer responsibility of the team from the founder to myself? The team is TeamAUS and the founder is Craig Zuvich, my name is Conan. Craig's computers are still going and producing data as his wife does not know how to stop them. Any help would be appreciated.

If she can access the computers it is very likely that he has the web browser set to autolog onto the sites, in that case she could make the change for you. You may need to talk her through the process on the phone, but that is most likely the "best" way to go ...

Paul,
Thanks for the response. I have since been in touch with David Anderson and he has fixed up my problem for me. Thanks again.
