Good news for Mac users running macOS 14 Sonoma: - This version solve the not detected GPU issue. - Screensaver is now running, except for Einstein@home. BM screensaver display this error message: Could not connect to screensaver of application Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo, GBT, long). I don't know if there is a BM screensaver issue or Einstein@home issue because I don't run others projects with screensaver option. With "Show graphics", Einstein@home graphics are correctly displayed, we can close the graphics window by using "stop graphics", but the close button (Apple's red button) is not usable. |

First of all I want to THANK YOU for still developing the BOINC client further. It would be a shame if all this would go to crap as it is a highly successful scientific method, not to mention after all those years and work and different projects. So I am very glad and relieved that you guys managed to get enough funding so the project can stay alive. On the other hand there have been quite some bug reports AFAIK over the years (but feel free to correct me). Considering the above and the time that has already passed since the last BOINC update I just would like to know if you guys have any timeline yet when we can get a few of those bugs fixed. But it's not only bugs, useful features had been suggested too. For example it would be VERY useful if the user could enter the time which BOINC stays paused. Currently this is fixed set to one hour. So - any timeline? Or anything else you can share about this? Just asking. No ungratefulness intended ;) Have a nice weekend everyone! |

Release notes are here. I think that sporadic apps could be a little breakthrough for Boinc projects.... (but it's necessary to involve researchers) |

Hi Team, Minor issue detected on a Mac intel running macOS Big Sur 11.7.10, with French, Deutsch and Italian translations: In advance view, under activity menu, no 'marker' are displayed to indicate which option is selected (run always or based on preferences). No issues on this Mac with English language, and no translation issues on a Mac Apple Silicon running macOS Sonoma 14.5. Cheers, Georges (GPV67) |

Hi. I've updated to 8.0.2 on Win11 and getting "BOINC Manager is not able to start a BOINC client." error. Tried to find the BOINC service in the Services applet and it's not there. Was working fine till the update. UPDATE: Full BOINC uninstall, and re-install fixed the issue. I also tried rebooting and repair - it didn't help. |

The 8.0.2 version of the BOINC client has been released for all platforms. Download it here. Release notes are here. So why no Linux ARM64 packages available? Just for amd64? |

The 8.0.2 version of the BOINC client has been released for all platforms. Download it here. Um, since the instructions don't take into account the fact that apt-key has been fully deprecated, Ubuntu 22.04+ users can't download it using them. Maybe CLI experts would have a workaround, but many of us are just average Joes (that's why we picked Ubuntu or one of its variants). I know this issue has already been raised, but in spite of a correction to the web page being promised and the discussion being closed back in March 2024, nothing has happened. Please? We may not be as numerous as Mac or PC users, but it's amazing how many work units are sent out to Linux machines. |

I haven't tried installing 8.0.2 or .3 for a bit but the instructions for the daily build of 8.1.0 work fine for 22.04 Edit: https://itsfoss.com/apt-key-deprecated/ Checking the link, this message is a warning not an error. You can still install software from 3rd party repositories in the same way. |
