I am seeing the message 'Suspending computation - CPU is busy' but the non-BOINC CPU load is less than 2%. I have two projects running is that makes any difference. What does the message mean |

I am seeing the message 'Suspending computation - CPU is busy' but the non-BOINC CPU load is less than 2%. I have two projects running is that makes any difference. What are your settings in Options>computing preferences? If you have "Suspend when computer is in use" checked you may want to increase the percentage of non-BOINC percentage of cpu being used before the suspension kicks in or uncheck the option. |

Suspend when computer in use and Suspend GPU computing when computer is in use are both unchecked Suspend when non-BOINC CPU usage is above 33.00% is checked |

Suspend when computer in use and Suspend GPU computing when computer is in use are both unchecked There are many background tasks that can take your computer over 33% usage which is what the message is telling you is happening. As Boinc is ultra low priority so will give way to any work you want to do, it is safe to set that to 75% or even (as I do) 95%. |

I found there are two places where you need to set it one in the section on 'When computer is in use' and the other section 'When computer not in use' will try them both at 95% and unselected to see what happens |

You haven't mentioned what operating system you're running. Try to locate a tool appropriate for your OS (e.g. Task Manager for Windows) which can give you an independent view of the processes running inside your computer, and the amount of CPU utilisation shown for each one - with some utilities you can sort the columns so it's easy to see the heavy users at the top. It may be that your machine is running a rogue program which is wasting your resources, or alternatively you may have uncovered a flaw in the boinc client making it mis-read the signals the OS is providing. It would be good to know if either of those possibilities is true. |
