Incidentally, I think Amicable numbers is guilty of overestimating the time tasks will take, certainly on their multi-CPU tasks where it looks to me like the estimate is for if the task is running on just on processor rather than the six I am using.See https://github.com/BOINC/boinc/issues/4151 and subsequent links. Should be fixed in server release v1.4.2 (we went through through some heavy testing on LHC-dev on CPDN's behalf, but I'm not trawling through all the entrails). But if they don't update their server, it'll go on happening. |

Many projects (I think Primegrid and Einstein are two guilty parties) say updating the server is a huge deal, since they've tweaked to suit themselves and those tweaks would be obliterated and they'd have a lot of work to do to reinstate them. Boinc was too late putting in a lot of things, and projects have had to make their own versions. Now we have branches and more mess. |

Though it looks as if Amicable numbers now recognises I am letting it use six cores/task. |
