At least there's a trickle of OPNG tasks. So, the BOINC part of WCG is still working.

OPNG is about to run out, for now.

https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=694872

"The current OPNG run is almost complete. At the current rate, our cache of OPNG work units will be completed within the next 2 days.
The OPNG team plans to release more work units later in the month, and we will share more about this once the details have been confirmed.

Thanks for your continued support of this project!"

Having an issue getting tasks for my threadripper 2 16 core that's been working flawlessly for quite a while, upgraded to 7.24.1 and basically stopped getting WU's for MCM. Switched back to 7.16.11 and more or less the same thing now. Used to have about 6 days worth (3 and 3) and runs 24/7 365, now I have to do an update project to get any and they finish in 2 hrs. then nothing. My laptop I7, same account and settings is still rolling on 7.24.1 w/plenty of WU's and no issues. I removed and re-added the project, made all the same settings and still barely doing any work.
Not sure where to head with this. Help?

Based on forum posts at WCG is Having server issue causing a shortage of work.

They are aware of it trying to get it working again
.

As you can see by this topic, it's a semi regular occurrence for them to have server problems.

The tech team are currently working on fixing an issue with the create Work process, which is responsible for the shortage in WUs at this time. In attempting to fix this issue, the feeder went down temporarily yesterday. The tech team will provide an update about this issue soon.

Forums page opened up right away from link in manager but going to individual forum for ARP was slow. Still work seems to be downloading and reporting without issue.

Back to lots of "503 Service Unavailable" errors, and also "System Error", and from time to time "Log In" window, when already logged in, but not recognized as logged in.
Edit, added: And an extremely slow website.

If/when ARP comes back, at the same time as OPNG tasks are available, I fear that everything will come to a screeching halt.

Got to the fora after a couple of attempts. still no hard news on a return of ARP which is my main reason for crunching WCG when CPDN has no work.

News from World Community Grid
ARP restart update

The ARP team is preparing to restart after the project was put on pause in December 2022.

This article outlines the steps that we are taking in order to restart this project.

Project: Africa Rainfall Project

Published on: 25 Apr 2024

... Fortunately, Amazon Web Services (AWS) agreed to host the data, and thus began the process of moving the data. Since the move is complete, the ARP team has been taking steps to make the data more broadly accessible through the AWS platform, but this work is still in the early stages. Currently, the focus is on finalizing the preparation of new work units and generating the data needed to restart ARP.

... We have assessed that both approaches are feasible, and wanted to let volunteers know that we are on a defined path to restarting ARP1 in the coming weeks.

The timeline of a possible restart of this project depends on the information from the ARP team. If the code and data required is not fully available to us, we will need to build out the missing components of the pipeline for generating new ARP1 work and confirm that we are able to reproduce the same inputs as we previously received from TU Delft servers to validate the new pipeline. Regardless, there will be no change and no action required by volunteers to facilitate the process and when ARP1 restarts work unit distribution will be the same as before.
