I received a few MCM and SCC today, last at 2023-09-27 13:35:44 UTC - then nothing.

Well, that certainly wasn't a simple one hour firmware update.

However:

Finally, the "Scheduler request failed: HTTP service unavailable" error in BOINC is gone, but now every request
for new work is instead followed by the "Tasks are committed to other platforms" response.
Also the WCG "results" page is no longer bogged down in molasses. It does now return the results pretty quick.
When it comes to the device profile changes, they still do not propagate to BOINC.
The validators have finally woken up, and begun slowly but steadily to validate finished work

New MCM1 tasks now coming through.

A long Thanksgiviing weekend in Canada in front of us, and only 2 hours after the team went home, the WCG website came crashing down.
The BOINC part of the system still works though, but who knows for how long.

Forum page now gives these errors:

Something very weird going on with the WCG FORUM SERVERS... below is what I get at any forum page:

Error 500: javax.servlet.ServletException: net.myvietnam.mvncore.exception.DatabaseException: Error executing SQL in MVNForumPermissionWebHelper.getPermissionsForGroupGuest.

Let's see if this is just another short server hiccup.

Still broken, guess we will have to wait until tomorrow Krembil time (about 8 hours or so) for a possible fix.

Website still out. Now instead of "systems error" all I see is "503 Service Unavailable - No server is available to handle this request." Not sure if this is progress or not.
Not seen any SCC WUs for a while either but some MCMs were still coming through last night (French time).

That might be of some use to those of you who use Facebook but for various reasons I will not let it near any of my computers.

Now the website has completely disappeared off the ether and it's Thursday evening in Toronto where the "tech team" more than likely has left for the day.

Not getting my hopes up that it will be back until next week sometime at earliest.

At least for now BOINC work is being sent & received

And here we are 16 hours later and the website is still missing.
I'll stick to my prediction of it being fixed maybe one day next week.

My previous prediction is still standing true.

WCG team posted a message on Facebook about 1 hour ago...

As announced on Wednesday, we identified an issue preventing the normal operation of the website and website database. During recovery efforts, it was discovered that the virtual disk containing daily database backups had failed due to the ongoing data center outage. Fortunately, the data on this virtual drive remained intact. However, the failed virtual drive has been preventing the database server from rebooting. We expect that this issue will be resolved by Monday. Thanks for your continued patience, support, and understanding.

The site is back(ish), but it's not possible to log in. "Invalid e-mail address and password provided"

It did sign me in despite the error message and I was able to post a message to the forum.
