Hello!! I have a problem when I try to compile the server in my Ubuntu Linux. I installed all libraries and I have the same problem that vitaly_repin in http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=1010 in this forum, but my first sentence is: /home/boincuser/PFC/BOINC/boinc_stable_20070123/apps/upper_case.C:241: undefined reference to `boinc_init_graphics' upper_case.o: In function `app_render(int, int, double)': [...] (Other senteces with OpenGL errors are the same.) When I compile I have OpenGL problems in upper_case application. I have some questions: I downloaded from cvs the stable version as I read in an article and the boinc_core_release_5_4_11 as vitaly_repin said in his post, but they don't run. How could I know if the version is stable o development? How many versions has the core? Which is the last and well known version that can I use? Thanks. Carlos Moreno. cmoreno8@gmail.com |

If you want to compile the server, *never* download 'stable' tag. Tags are used to mark client versions, and 5.4.11 is from August 2006. A lot of changes have happened on the server code since then. The source download page says that on the bottom: "DO NOT USE THE STABLE VERSION OF SERVER AND API SOFTWARE. IF YOU DO, IT WILL BE FAR OUT OF DATE. USE THE CURRENT VERSION INSTEAD." |

Hi, Thank you very much. I didn't find this web page. I read and I was looking for a server tag. I find the boinc_server_2_28_2 tag in CVS. I just saw this! I tried to download a current tag, but it doesn't exist. Is it the correct cvs module? Thanks. Carlos Moreno. cmoreno8@gmail.com |

boinc_server_2_28_2 is probably many years old. Just download HEAD (ie. latest revision) for the server. Server code doesn't have version numbers as far as I know. |
