Fairly trivial but possibly worth a fix if it hasn't been done already. I saw on the website that a new version was available, My machines here have 7.16.7 and can see from the website that the current version is substantially later. However, if I click the "Check for new BOINC version" from the "Help" tabs at the top of BOINC Manager, it says "There is no new version of BOINC Manager available for download". Also, that note looks to be specific to BOINC Manager, does this need to be the case? Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. |

Which operating system and hardware? There was a fault with the notification system for Apple macs in the M1 - Apple silicon - range, but that should be fixed now. For mainstream hardware and operating systems, all should have v7.20.2 available by now. |

I noticed this today on one of my machines, 4GHz i7 PC, Windows 8.1 x64. As I said, if already fixed, no issue. Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. |

I wasn't (and I'm still not) aware of any problem with Windows - which was why I asked. Unless the Mac developer broke it while fixing his own OS ??? |

It was here this morning on one of my systems. As I said, though trivial, but I expect a trivial job to correct. Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. |

I wasn't (and I'm still not) aware of any problem with Windows - which was why I asked. I thought the notification was only polled every 28 days. So if the last polling was before the 20.2 release, then it should come up again in 28 days or sooner. |

See thread 14749. Sometimes relying on assumptions like that can allow a genuine problem to pass unheeded. That's why I like to get to the real facts behind the report. |
