I think I originally asked this in the wrong forum. I have an i5 Intel iMac and this morning BOINC served me a notice that there was a new version of BOINC available. I downloaded and installed BOINC 7.20.2 I run einstein@home In addition I have an M1 mac mini. It also runs einstein@home. It currently has BOINC version 7.16.21. I got no notice on the M1 mac mini that a new version of BOINC was available. Clicking on "Check for new BOINC version" the BOINC on the M1 mac mini reports "There is no new version of BOINC Manager available". What memo did I miss? Try looking directly at the 'Download all' page. There, it lists a v7.20.2 version for "Apple Mac (64-bit Intel and Apple Silicon), MacOS 10.9+". Verify that matches the specifications of your M1 mac mini: if it does, download it and see if it will install. (the process should be the same as for your i5 Intel iMac). Please come back and tell us, either way. The M1 macs are still pretty new: it's possible that the process for notifying you of new versions hasn't been updated properly yet. We can ask them to take another look at it, if needed. (as Keith said in your original thread) |

I downloaded and installed 7.20.2 and it all went without a hitch. It is up and running under Monterey 12.5 on JohnGalt my M1 mac mini. Thanks for the quick reply. Stephen Hawkins 73 49 111 01001001 |

I think I've fixed this, but unfortunately my M1 Mac is currently in the shop. Please test this by reinstalling 7.16.21 (you can download it from https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_7.16.21_macOSX_universal.zip), then try clicking on "Check for new BOINC version" on the M1 Mac, and let us know if it is indeed fixed. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Charlie Fenton BOINC / SETI@home Macintosh & Windows Programmer |
