Just to say that after a recent dearth CPDN has work again. Currently only for Linux or some sort of virtualisation but there have also been some Windows batches on testing that should at some point produce some main site work.

Problem with files not downloading is now fixed according to Andy. One of the mods on CPDN board now has tasks downloading which supports this.

Came home this evening to find six running on my Ryzen. just over 1500 tasks left on the server at last update. (18:23:42 UTC)

#932 Same experiment, another 2450 tasks poured into the hopper. My guess is these will last a little longer than the first lot as many will have all their cores crunching by now.

I often find with that type of captcha where you have to click all the squares with traffic lights, boats, or whatever in them it takes two or three to not make a mistake. I think the problem is that if they are too easy, AI can get them enabling bots to sign up.

I signed up long enough ago that such security features weren't used.

Glen Carver, one of the developers of the OpenIFS model type for CPDN has just posted on the forums there that he intends to put start multi-core tests of this model type after the summer. This will significantly up the required amount of RAM needed.

Processor speed is not that relevant here, what is though is available core count. IFS (and OpenIFS) is a highly parallel model. If I enable threading, there is a 2x speedup with 2 cores, 3.5x with 4 cores etc. I plan to release some tests on the dev site which will try out multi-core, higher model resolution (and hence memory) after the summer with assistance from the CPDN team.

The NZ server appears to be performing better now. No longer do I have the best part of a hundred >80Mb zip files in constant stall, and fresh uploads go through at the rate I would expect.
