BOINC stopped working with message VM environment needed clearing.

After that I get "Invalid RPC password. Try to reinstall."

I've reinstalled, rebooted, cleared registry from all references to BOINC,
still get the same message... Any Ideas?

Sounds like a permissions issue is my instinct/memory from last time I saw the password bit of your problem. Are you running BOINC in a virtual machine, if so it would be worth posting what the host and guest environments are including versions and also BOINC version and what projects you are running. I assume that until recently it was working normally in which case, a BOINC update to a current version is likely to be the cause of any permissions issue.

I can't remember when this started to happen on Linux machines but there were quite a few posts about it maybe a year or two ago.

OS is win10, I've tried both x64 and x64 w/ VM.. same result... Did run fine until that instance when I got message "Suspended all projects: VM environment needed clearing"... Dunno what's wrong..

Only project I'm running atm is rosetta@home, BOINC version is the latest, 7.16.20 (x64)... worked fine until that VM message, and it was plain x64 version, no virtual OS.

You may have a look in VirtualBox Manager. From the File menu choose Virtual Media Manager.
Maybe you see some vdi's with a yellow warning triangle.
Select one and choose 'Remove' from the icon menu above.
