I got suckered into trying ARP again 12 hours ago, and am still trying to complete the downloads.
It will be a more efficient use of my time to let them fix it, and then check again next year.

And again the WCG website goes down. Not surprised any longer. And of course it will stay down for many hours,
since WCG does not seem to have anyone on call.

System error
World Community Grid is currently experiencing an unexpected error. Please check Facebook or Twitter for more information.

Not acceptable for a project that was rock solid under IBM. It's clear by now, that the Krembil/Jurisica team are not
capable of fixing all the issues, during and after the migration.

Edit: It went down about the same time as October 5th, around 04:40-04:50 (UTC)

It feels as if Krembil have been concentrating on individual components - oiling the squeaking wheels. But they seem not to have an overall, wholistic, comprehensive plan.

It can't walk and chew gum at the same time.

It would help if they had the bandwidth for more than a dial up connection.

Even cross country postal (snail) mail in the USA is faster than downloads from Krembil.

I've just turned WCG off for now -- no new tasks, and it will remain so until I see something positive from the rest of you.
Meanwhile, if anyone's interested, Rosetta is back with a massive dump of new tasks, and LHC has started up its 3rd run, so there is a lot of work there too.

The website is back(ish), just as slow as ever. I guess the uptime will be less than 2 days though....
The BOINC part of the project isn't affected by the website going down though.
(I won't even mention the BOINC download issues, that part is what it is, sigh....)
Geeze....

And back again, but likely not for long, since I doubt that they have found and fixed the problem.

Two retreads today, both failed with filesize errors on one of the downloads.

Sigh, here we go again. WCG website went down, at 05:45 UTC+2.
The BOINC part still working, but not many tasks available at the moment.

I do not need a bottle, I need a barrel. :-)

Yes, of course. They just had a whole boatload of OPNG tasks going out, and the website became laggy as usual.
Then pretty soon, it was goodnight WCG web.

Not at all surprised any longer. it seems to be either WU's, or Website, not both at the same time.

Well, WCG website came back, while I was gone shopping. Now though, it went goodnight again.
The WCG website has become somewhat of a Yo-Yo site....

And it feels as if they've been turning the up/download servers off and on again, every few seconds. That doesn't bode well.

Website still broken. I saw yesterday in the WCG 'helpless' official gripe board "Cyclops" posting something to the effect that they still have their technology group looking into the download errors and will post a new message once it's fixed.

This was after several days of users confroning them on last week's post that it was fixed.

It seems there is no communication between anyone at WCG and active users are dropping like zombies on the day after Halloween.
