ClimatePrediction.net is currently Linux only. This has been discussed a lot on their Message board. |

There are many other worthy BOINC projects that you can contribute your CPU & GPU resources to that have Windows apps. For a list of "official" BOINC projects click here to see what projects have what type of apps and descriptions of each one. The following 3 projects almost always have CPU work available. World Community Grid currently has 4 active and 2 intermittent CPU sub-projects. The OpenPandemics - COVID-19 sub-proj also has a GPU application. ROSETTA has CPU only apps, including a VirtualBox app that has occasional work. SiDock@home has CPU only apps. |

ClimatePrediction.net and GPUGRID have sent no work units for months, will delete BOINC soon. GPUGrid in fact has sent hundreds of work units today. Unfortunately, the datasets are all corrupted or incomplete and the tasks have all errored out in a few seconds on all hosts. |

CPDN has over 3,000 tasks sitting in the queue ready to be snapped up. If running Windows there are instructions in the forums there to run them under Windows using WSL. Native Windows tasks come along every so often but are usually snapped up in a few hours because so many machines are ready to grab them. |

Here's a link to a thread giving (some of) the instructions to run CPDN on a Windows PC using WSL: https://www.cpdn.org/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=9025#63462 Note: WSL is not available for Windows 7 (or earlier?). |

ClimatePrediction.net and GPUGRID have sent no work units for months, will delete BOINC soon.a) You don't say which BOINC version, if an older one than the present 7.16.20 you have trouble with an expired certificate and that won't fix itself unless you update. b) If updated, you don't say what kind of message you get and then it's quite difficult to guess what can be happening. c) Yes, utter threats of deletion! Cause that helps immediately on a volunteer forum. We don't care. Well, I certainly don't. Go ahead and delete BOINC for all I care. Especially if you can't be bothered to give a little information about what you see on your end. |

In the absence of any Rosetta tasks in several weeks, I decided to try Folding@Home, which is not a BOINC project. I was running WCG and Milky Way. Then last night I got a Rosetta Project. But Folding made my Milky Way and Rosetta tasks run for 14 hours. Stopped Folding and they completed in less than an hour. So I my discontinue Folding@Home. Seemed like a good project, but it slowed my old computer to a crawl. S.Gaber |

ClimatePrediction.net and GPUGRID have sent no work units for months, will delete BOINC soon. Well the GPUGRID has perked back up with a new version of ACEMD (2.19) it is a little more GPU intensive so some of the fairly old cards may no longer work. And it also requires MS Visual C++ 2015 or later. Their forum posting is here. https://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=5297&nowrap=true#58008 Bill F In October 1969 I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; There was no expiration date. |

ClimatePrediction.net and GPUGRID have sent no work units for months, will delete BOINC soon. And another batch has been released since the thread started for CPDN so there are still about 4,800 tasks in the queue waiting for new computers or those crunching to finish the tasks they are working on. |
