(blush) I upgraded from client 4.45 to 5.2.5, to include installing the client on a different disk. The new client downloaded all new work units and started work. Are the unfinished work units from 4.45 unuseable, now? I tried copying all the files that seemed closely related, but 5.2.5 is listing only the work units it downloaded in the "Work" tab. Thanks in advance. |

There are "pointers" to the files and unfortunately they are stored in text files that could have been updated. But, they pointed to the old locations where there was no data any longer. So, "poof!" as far as BOINC was concerned the files were gone! I would be interested in the log files if you would not mind ziping them up and sending them to me at p.d.buck@comcast.net Not sure, but there may be a message in there I have not seen yet ... |

Paul, I installed a new IDE HDD on my Server and left my old SCSI HDD intact with OS as 2nd drive(D:) in the PC. Then I installed Win2000 Server on the IDE and can now boot from either drive by changing the Boot drive in BIOS. On the IDE I installed BIONC 5.4.9 which was also running on the SCSI drive. Then I copied the contains of the BOINC Folder from D: to the C: drive (IDE) and launched BOINC. I then reset all the projects and downloaded new WU. BOINC had no chance of running prior to this as I manualy controll its activity. So far so good. the new WU started fine and the ones on the d: (SCSI) drive also run when I boot to that drive. The ownly iregularity I have piked up so far is that my Graph in Statistics have lost the original starting pionts. I run 4 projects and all of the graphs no longer start at 0. I am sure that I made an error. How do I get my Graphs to show me the starting piont again? |

I'm afraid Paul hasn't been around for some time. Your best bet for finding someone who might be able to help would probably be to post on Number crunching forum at Seti. You pulled up a very old thread. Boinc V 7.4.36 Win7 i5 3.33G 4GB NVidia 470 |
