Hello,
I seriously think that the project workload distribution is very wrong in my case..
I have Rosetta@HOME as my only project.
I see that BOING downloads 8 work units to do contemporaneously.... I think they are too much for my machine..
I see that I often I arrive to 80 % than the system advise that they are overdue (time limit expired) and suggests to me to abort...
It happens continuously.. And the system is not capable to understand that my machine and the time I give for the prjects is too small so continues to download 8 work units...
I think that if a situation like this continues many times the system should download 5 o 4 workunits at time so to balance the power..
I seriously think that the system is wasting my current doing nothing useful..

Rosetta can take a while to learn how much work your system can deal with but there are several ways that you can help it to do so without loosing work.

In order to advise you of the best way we need to know something about your set up. What computer do you have, how many cores and what processor? What operating system and which version of Boinc?

Just a quick thought, some projects you actually get higher throughput if you don't run virtual cores and stick to real ones. If Rosetta is like that, going into options>computing preferences and restricting BOINC to use 50% of CPUs might be helpful.

That will also help by restricting the number of WUs Boinc downloads.

When they first download, what is the estimated time to completion? It should be 8 hours but sometimes Rosetta gets in a muddle which is why it downloads too much.

Also, go to advanced view > tools and run benchmarks. It should have run them itself but sometimes does not and that can throw the WU allocation out as well.
