Downloaded recent new BOINC upgade 7.16.11. When I went to install it, (along with new Virtual Box), it shows an error trying to locate the install .msi file. It's there, I pointed the install to the file and it simply states it can't locate it on the network. I uninstalled and tried reinstalling from scratch, same error messages every time. Anyone know of a workaround? |

Many, but the easiest is option 1 in https://boinc.mundayweb.com/wiki/index.php?title=Windows_Installer_Error_1706:_Setup_cannot_find_the_required_files |

I fully believed it would end up being a Windows issue, as it usually is. But I figured someone here would've had the same issue at some point and would know a fix. And you had the right fix. Worked like a charm. Thanks ever so much for your help in pointing me in the correct direction. |
