I'm running the latest version of Boinc on Arch Linux, and there's this strange issue where the Boinc Manager seems to be working, but when I click add project, there are no options. If anyone knows what's going on, please help. |

he latest version of Boincwhich helps us absolutely nothing, as this can be anything from 7.0.0 to 7.16.11, depending on when your package manager decided to update the BOINC for your distribution. Please state the full version of your BOINC which can be found in Help About. This bug should have been fixed not too long ago, in https://github.com/BOINC/boinc/pull/3954 but it requires both the boinc client and BOINC Manager to be running. You only state BOINC Manager is running, so check that your client is as well. If both are, this may still be bugged, but we need the version number for that. |

Sorry for not clarifying; It's version 7.16.10. Also, to be honest, I should have done a bit more digging. Boinc wasn't running, it was just boinc manager, and when I started boinc it gave me gstate.init() failed and the error code -180. |

It's version 7.16.10.v7.16.10 was only ever a short-lived test version for Mac. Try upgrading to the recommended final release version 7.16.11. |

There isn't a newer version from the Arch Linux repository though, and the repository version of boinc seems to work for other people. |

Is any of https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/BOINC of use to you? Like starting the BOINC client as a service? |

I also have version 7.16.10 installed, which is the latest available from the Arch package manager. I am experiencing the same issue. |

I, to my knowledge, followed the instructions there to a tee, which is why I'm so confused as to why this is happening. |

Well, in that case I do think it's related to the faulty code that was fixed in the issue I pointed to. In that case you'll have to contact the package maintainer for Arch and ask him to build a newer version with the bugfix included. We don't know which versions of files he added and didn't add, or which branch he used for building, you can name anything BOINC 7.16.10 Or use boinccmd to command the client. For commands, see https://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Boinccmd_tool |
