Project Gerasim, never updates.
It uploads results, and leaves the completed WUs as completed.
I manually have to go to the Projects, click Gerasim, and update it there, for new WUs to be downloaded.
It also only downloads 8 WUs (It used to be 4 before) on a quad core, regardless of the amount of days of work I want to store.

Is there a way to automatically update Gerasim, like every 2-4 hours or so?

If you look at your Computing Preferences "Store at least" xx days of work that is how often the system will look to communicate so using the example 0.2 BOINC will try to load enough work for 4.8 hours and then check back in.

The second number "Store up to an additional" xx days of work gives you some back log for internet outages and systems going down for maintenance.

I run Store at Least at 0.25 and an additional 1 days work. So BOINC trys to communicate every 6 hours.

Keep in mind that if you are running more than 1 project then the Scheduler will play a part,

Hello,

As I cannot create a new thread (why?) I'll take this one for my question.

I started running ODLK@home, the message board there is completely in russian, so I cannot ask there.

I have about 1500 completed tasks with status 'validation pending' since last friday there. Is that normal that this takes forever there?

Thank you!

Looking at your account on ODLK I do see credits so some of your work is being validated. So maybe your wing men have slower systems or are over committed.

Does the project use validation? CPDN for instance does not but it still shows tasks under that heading on my account.

Like I said, changing that value doesn't change anything on the amount of stored WUs from Gerasim.
8 WUs is like 3-4 hours max of work on my system.
More than likely it finishes in 1.5 hours

Login to the project and go to the tab called Project prefs to make changes to the venue your hosts are on (home work school blank/default).

You might need to change possibly the value for Workunits per host per day to a larger number than the default.

The next two changes are the most important Max tasks in progress and Send no more then each time to values that will allow you to return tasks in a reasonable time - 24 hours is suggested.

Don't forget to click updates preferences when done and do a manual update to your computers for them to get new values.

Strange,
All the WU values were set to 4.
I maxed them all out, and that seemed to do the trick!

Thanks!
