Hi guys, I hope you can help me figure out what's going on.

Boinc is set up to do GPU work when the PC has been idle for one minute. This noon I unlocked the PC to find a bunch of primegrid GPU tasks that were downloaded through the morning, idling with the message "GPU suspended - Computer is in use". Pretty odd since the PC sat on and untouched for the whole morning. I observed the Boinc manager for over ten minutes and the GPU tasks never started. If I uncheck the option to suspend GPU while computer is in use, they do start but render the OS GUI barely usable, so I checked it back. I'm on Boinc version 7.16.6 x64, Ubuntu MATE 20.04, my computer is rather old but it can still crunch, it's a Phenom II 955 with an Nvidia 9800GT GPU, proprietary Nvidia driver 340.108, and 12GB of RAM. Boinc is also set to use only one of the four cores of the CPU at 100% CPU time.

Silly as it may sound mice have been known to go for a walk without human intervention - a tiny bit of jitter can be enough to make an oversensitive computer think it is being used.
