Trying to get boinc running on manjaro. Some googling leads to an ArchWiki page, that says to:

ln -s /var/lib/boinc/gui_rpc_auth.cfg gui_rpc_auth.cfg

But, /var/lib/boinc is an empty directory.

Also, I am getting messages about the BOINC client exiting unexpectedly.

Installed BOINC Manager 7.16.7-1 on the latest Manjaro with all updates installed.

BOINC Manager Help -> About reports a slightly different v7.16.6

There is no event log

It's a NUC8i7BEH with an Intel i7-8559U cpu.

Try /var/lib/boinc-client. The developers moved the installation directory to boinc-client a while back.

The gui_rpc_auth.cfg file is located at /etc/boinc-client.

Are you running headless or with the gui Manager? Is the Manager set to run the client when started? Look at >> Options >> Other Options >> General >> Run the client? setting. Is it toggled on?
