Yep. There's another in the pipeline, I think. Same week, Easter. Received the eagerly awaited CT bill for 2023-24. WTF? 0 liability with a credit of £55.07? Haven't made any payment whatsoever this year, so e-mailed them for confirmation & to clarify the credit. That was 11 days ago, aside from the auto-reply, nothing else....yet. Going to have fun with this one. :-) |

Grumble that turned into a glory. Checking e-mail every so often, none received from the City Council, so after 16 days, said, stuff it call instead. Finally got through the crap on automated menu. Gave Account No & had to confirm details, no problem. Explained the situation as worried they might come back later in the year. Got confirmation that our liability is Zero. The fun started once I asked for clarification of the credit amount. Got told it was part of the energy rebate from last year (£150)What I got told next, thank god I was not there in person. :-) When I said that I had received it, got told there had no record of it being paid. So quick as a flash, replied, in that case shouldn't it be £150 instead of £55.07? Good point, I'll look into that now, do you mind if I put you on hold? No problem go ahead. After 5 minutes or so, got back to me. Can you confirm the dates you received the EBR & the refund on CT overpayment? Yes, I'm sitting front of my computer, just let me log into my bank online. Scrolled through the statements for last year, gave her the dates , she said thanks, I'll get back to you quick as I can, thanks for holding. After a minute or two, got the info. Apparently, the PCC HSF/Anglian Water payment of £184 should have been £239.07. Did I want a refund processed? No leave it as a credit. Nobody knows what tomorrow brings. Thanks for all your help. Best customer service call I've had in a very long time. Also, I love pointing out the screw ups to the system when they make them. :-) |

Glory: Since installing Lunar my computer doesn't care that my printer changes its IP address each time I switch it on depending on what else is already connected. Grumble: It doesn't want to talk to my bluetooth speakers or headphones anymore. |

Grumble. Was going to call bank today regarding new debit card as current one expiring in 9 days. Fortunately, it's arrived. With the issues experienced with the last one, it activated straight away. However, WTF? Got a couple of issues with it. In the past, the silver coating on the embossed details rarely lasted longer than a month or two. No problem, the details were still readable. Also, previous cards were for a period of 3 years. New one is 4y2m. Embossing? Nope all details are now on the back & just printed in white. Yeah, wonder how long that'll last before a new card is needed? Pretty sure it won't be in 4y2m time. |

Embossing?knuckle busters are long dead. Youngsters will have no idea what taking an imprint of a credit card was. Did they remove the mag stripe too? |

No, mag stripe still there as is the signature spot. Had fun with that in the past. One shop refused my card because the card wasn't signed. My reply, it's chip & pin, why do I need to sign it & how will you confirm my signature? Got some B/S back so when he got this in reply, got no reply back: so need need for chip & pin then. He got the message. |

One shop refused my card because the card wasn't signed.Friend got that, they offered a pen to him to sign it right there so they could take it. And the security of your bank account depends on people like this. |

Yeah, makes one think. Unfortunately, that was one incident that I will never forget. I won't name the supermarket, but have experienced stupid issues with them before & after that one. Just said, okay & left a full trolley & walked out of the store. Carried on working as normal for the rest of the week hoping I finish early enough on the Friday so I could enjoy the weekend. Due to driving regulations, got every other weekend off. :-) Got feet up Sat evening, about 6ish when got a knock on the door. A police officer. Told me why he was there & as I don't discuss matters at the door, allowed him in. Listened to him, we had a conversation, his final comment really really really p'ed me off so asked him to leave & do your worst. I got threatened with being arrested. He left with the threat of me highlighting both his actions & the stores in court. Never did hear any thing back. Continued to shop at that store for several years until I moved out of the area. |

Depends on what is said. Apparently, the cashier reported me as an aggressive racist. Up until that incident, I've always had a dislike for coppers due to too many experiences with the Met. After that incident & several others since, I hate them with a passion. Unlike the rest of the world, our coppers job is to "uphold" the law, not enforce it. I know they're needed but little hitlers are something else. Personally I love it when the racist card is used on me. I have a field day as that copper that day, found out... ...to his cost. I laughed my ass off 4 years later. Needed some lunch & cash, stopped off at a shopping mall 2 counties over. Got cash & lunch & stopped off at the cigarette kiosk. Guess who served me.... ...made my day. :-) |

Another grumble that only confirms that the reliance on silicon instead of a Mk1 computer is in full flow. Received a nice brown envelope today. DVLA. My digital tacho card expires 15/8/23. Normally this would be no problem. Sadly, after my strokes had my HGV catergories taken off. However, still entitled to drive vhicles up to 7.5 ton (grandfather rights). Here's the issue. By law all drivers must have 3 cards in their possession while at work. License, dCPC & tacho cards. Again, no problem Normally. Sadly, due to medical issues, I did not bother renewing my dCPC 3 years ago as felt that I would be wasting £350. You gotta love technology & its inherent lack of common sense in those that use it. As it stands today, all drivers details, road tax, insurance, MOT & driving license are all linked in so that police can know what they stopping on the road. See where I'm heading with this? |

See where I'm heading with this?GIGO In garbage is the programming that says send reminder, but don't check to see if the reminder applies first. Human error. <ed>To err is human, to really f things up requires a computer. |

Grumble: The font size on the forums and this site in general got bigger. I was perfectly happy with the old one. |

Grumble: The font size on the forums and this site in general got bigger. I was perfectly happy with the old one. Thanks for the confirmation! And here I thought at first it was something wrong with the website rendering incorrectly on my mobile web browser. Then went to desktop PC and had to shrink the page to make it fit my screen. |

Well, even for me with the beginning of cataracts in both my eyes, this new font size is a bit too big. So, I'll shrink the page/site to 90% size. |

Grumble. :-( I can't believe the junk mail often received in the mail, but today... ...get a nice red pamphlet. NHS prescriptions delivered to your door - pain free.Jesus frigging wept. They can't even deliver the mail properly. |

They can't even deliver the mail properly.Well, maybe when you adjust your expectations, and see that's not a thing you expect the NHS to do, but by the post man. |
