That was original, and fellow moderators, keep a look out. Just removed a thread that had two spammers talking to each other about fonts. The links to their pages were in their profiles. In Chrome they'd hidden the links so they showed as clear text, Firefox picked them up with an underline. |

Took a reading earlier (last one for the month). From April 2020 to 31.8.22, My electricity cost has increased by £292. Don't think there is much more we can do to reduce energy usage. Every thing gets turned off at night with the exception of fridge & freezer (computer back crunching when cooler weather gets here). Got another 15 days for the gas bi-monthly spreadsheet (180 days autumn/winter, 185 days spring/summer). Grumble. Using MSE's energy cap calculator, it estimated that it will cost us another £50 pm (that's for D/D, they don't have one for prepayment}. |

Well, let's see if the EU can agree on this, at an emergency meeting of EU energy ministers on September 9. EU governments preparing market reforms to decouple power prices from gas |

Well at least you will have power and water. http://www.caiso.com/Documents/california-iso-extends-flex-alert-to-thursday-sept-1.pdf https://www.calwater.com/alerts/2022-0819-watering-restrictions-due-to-mwd-shutdown-sept-6-20/ |

Every thing gets turned off at night with the exception of fridge & freezer (computer back crunching when cooler weather gets here).I put freezer on superfrost during the day when I have electricity from solar. Temperature returns to -14C during the night. Days when I head to work early, I am now back to using gas for breakfast as it is dark so no solar to power induction hob. Combined gas and electricity bill for last month £75. |

Glory (I think). Enough gas for the next 415 days. Electric covered to 16/11 @ current rate. The following 6 months covered by the energy discount. Got a question though. Have noticed from the readings for Aug up to date, the usage is not matching previous daily usage. Slighter lower, enough that if it continues, it will equate to a saving of approx. £50 a year. Not a lot but... Is a new (combi) boiler (digital) that efficient over an older boiler? |

Is a new (combi) boiler (digital) that efficient over an older boiler? Ours seems to be making a bit more difference than that so depends a bit on age of old boiler. Our old one was old when we moved in and did us 19 years, replaced earlier this year. New one seems to be about 20% more efficient based on usage. |

Glory (I think).Better not advertise that as else you'll get a lot of guests this winter. All those in the neighbourhood who do have to choose between heat and food. |

Thanks Dave. Don't know how old the old boiler was, but was informed that they replace every 20 years. As for usage, it's only water, baths & heating that the gas is used for. Mainly use shower for bathing. It's electric not provided by boiler. With the triple glazing installed & the mild winters since installation, not much heating was required. I'll settle for 20% more efficiency in a cold winter any time. The BBC did a report yesterday which estimated how high the energy cap from next month will hit various properties. Ours is estimated to be £2,400 per annum. As we only paid a total of £1,066 for the last year, that's not looking good. |

More than likely be at the idiots who light up the outside of their homes from late Nov to early Jan for Xmas. That's if the "snobs" do so this year of course. |

As we only paid a total of £1,066 for the last year, that's not looking good. That is about what ours is looking like for next year gas and electric combined with increase in cap but that is with 5KW of solar on the roof. Eunice provided us with a lot of wood which after the summer is bone dry so not having to buy wood for this coming winter either. |

Don't come to The Netherlands then, energy prices here have quadrupled and even more. People whose contracts are up are supposed to go from e.g. 270 euros in the month to 670-1432 euros in the month for their energy bill. Just run https://twitter.com/search?q=%23ikredhetnietmeer through a translator to see all the cries for help. And our government? They say they cannot help. They can give money to asylum seekers (730 million), to the Palestinians (750 million) but the Dutch people can go to hell this winter. Now already. Maybe next year that we'll see some compensation. Our Minister of Finance just yesterday said to the European Union that European civilians should not be compensated for the high prices for energy, instead they should just use less energy. The woman is absolutely crazy. Doesn't have any feeling what the majority of civilians are going through. |

General election day here in Sweden today. Riksdag, municipal council and regional council elections will be held on 11 September 2022. Glory: We live in a democracy, and we do have free and fair elections. Grumbles: I really don't feel that any party represents me, and my opinions. I will vote though, but this year it's harder than ever before to choose...... In the 2018 general elections, 87.2 percent of persons eligible to vote also chose to vote. Let's see how the voter turnout will look this time. |

The woman is absolutely crazy. Doesn't have any feeling what the majority of civilians are going through. Our prime minister is going for an approach that treats everyone the same. If you have a 20 room mansion and use ten times what the average household uses you get the same price cap on the unit rate so ten times the subsidy of the person who is struggling on a minimum wage job. |

Yes, but at least you get a price cap on energy. We do not. Some households are looking to pay close to 25,000 euros for energy this year with no end in sight. Those aren't the rich come as they may households, but the middlemen who cannot afford this. |

It certainly would be here, though I suspect the current incumbents here will be out in two years time whatever they do now. |

The ruling parties are so low in the polls that they don't dare give up this cabinet, because they would never come back after the elections. |

BIG frigging grumble. Guys, if you think that I'm an idiot on this one, say so. I've calmed down but it peeved me off no end. 15:09 - Mobile rigs. Look at phone, medical centre so took the call. Hi this is the pharmacist Is this Sirius B? Can you confirm your D.O.B? NO. You have the details in front of you & you're calling my mobile. Menntioned the Data Protcetion Act that is often used when we have to contact organisations so it should also work in reverse. But I need to confirm who I'm speaking to (still failed to identify himself). OK, can you at least give me a legitimate & reasonable reason as to why your calling me? Well, I can't discuss your details but it is in regards to your medication. I'm NOT ON ANY medication. The dildo continued with his B/S so hung up. BTW, it was my medical centre. That's the second grumble today, 1st happened about 12:58 but it was hilarious. It made me day, until the mobile rang. :-( |

Guys, if you think that I'm an idiot on this one, say so.I think you are being entirely reasonable. How do you know it isn't someone phishing to get information about you for some nefarious purpose? |
