aargh, a day for grumbles it seems. 2hr 10m to go & it might turn to glory. Grumble 1. Laptop not arrived yet. Grumble 2. Seller provides 24/48 hr free delivery, yet Amazon taking 5. Grumble 3. Amazon says arriving today by 8pm. Grumble 4. Tracking number is not recognized according to DPD. Had many a delivery from DPD, each time get a text approx. 2.5 hrs before delivery giving approx. delivery time. No test received yet. :-( Grumble 5. I forgot Grumble 6. Win 10 rig died last night - MB failure. :-( If I'd paid £6.99 delivery to Amazon, would have had it last Friday. So far, about the only good thing today has been Joe Root & Johnny Bairstow winning the delayed 5th test against India & setting records. :-) |

Nothing to do with deliveries not being on time surprises me these days. I always go for the cheapest delivery option, and very often find it arrives inside the expensive "express" delivery (dis)service. DPD's tracking system is a total shambles - "can't find the tracking number we gave you" being all too common. "Overnight" - you've got to be joking. "Deliver in the morning" - since when has 22:00hrs been in the morning? Texts saying "It' out for delivery never arriving, or arriving days after it arrived - SNAFU. I know one very large customer of DPD threatened to cancel a multi-year multi-million contract because of their absolutely abysmal performance. DPD perked up for a bit, but are slipping back into the mire again. That batting blast by Root & Bairstow was a real gem. I even felt sorry for the ball the way they were smashing it around. |

I always thought that last applied to Gumtree, a platform I gave up on using to advertise massage as while I got more people contacting me than from any other platform, so many were asking for, "extras" or "Happy endings" I was in danger of running out of space on my phone to block more numbers! |

DPD's tracking system is a total shambles Even when it says, "in transit" it is often a different type of vehicle! |

DPD perked up for a bit, but are slipping back into the mire again.Odd, I find DPD to function perfectly, they're the only one that does. Hermes however.... My experience say the same. Had no problems with DPD they have always delivered within their 1 hr time frame, with one exception, the driver was early and phoned me to ask if it was ok to deliver early. But is Amazon deliveries that annoy me, you click deliver all these items on same day, not tomorrow but in two or three days time. and what happens, one item gets delivered asap, like tomorrow, a couple arrive on correct day as specified, but one comes via the Post office at 09:30 and the others at 20:00 on amazon van, and only got a delivery time window notification after it had started. and one arrives about 5 days later. |

I'm only going to say this once. Governors are not controlled by GPS or cameras. As for Amazon being 15% higher than Fleebay may be correct, bur compared to many other retailers they can often be cheaper. @Rob Yep but this one I had grave suspicion of & seeing these on my order in account only confirms it for me (checked on order at 8:15pm).. Its been half-inched. Business ordered from is in the UK. There is no way that it took 5 days to get to a main distribution centre & then to a courier depot near the buyer (which in my case is approx 15m drive away). Over the years, seen this type of situation many times. 99% of the time the cause was Theft. |

@WK To date all DPD deliveries I've had, always got a text message giving a 2 hr delivery time slot. Text mostly received 90m before the start of time slot. If Amazon classifies courier depot as carrier facility, then it may be just delayed & should be here tomorrow early. Most couriers have approx. 100 deliveries on board & seeing the time it arrived at courier depot... ...again there is no way it takes 5 days to get from main depot to local depot, not in the UK anyway. @ Dave & Rob When that last run was scored, immediately thought of "When Johnny Comes Marching Home". Quite appropriate. :-) |
