They say they are now sending me the correct lids and I get to keep the old ones that I probably don't have any jars to fit.

Is this a ploy to sell me some smaller jars and they then send me yet another size?

Grumble: They have also invited me to review the product. Presumably using my psychic powers as I haven't received it yet!

Grumble: Ordered six 86mm lids for some jars we have. Today 6x56mm lids arrived. Checked email receipt and confirmed I had ordered the right size. Now negotiating returns procedure.
Glory: Ordered a 90 degree crowbar and got the standard gooseneck one. After the seller claimed they both do the same thing, Ebay took it back for free. That cost the seller two heavy postage fees.

Anyone know what on earth you're supposed to do with a gooseneck crowbar? The thing you're trying to lever off the other thing is in the way of the handle!

Wonderful, so you're a beta tester, risking your life.
I take it you would rather alpha-test SARS CoV-2.
I can probably avoid that.
That's what every name I typed in November through February said too. Just more overtime for me.

Grumble: Other half sent a cake in post to friends in Sweden. Over a month later it has been returned with a label saying, "Incomplete customs declaration." She was told when taking it to post office, nothing else was needed.

Glory: Correct sized lids arrived today, now to see if we have any jars to fit the small ones.

Okay, this morbid humor stops here. Any next infractions will be dealt with accordingly.
Goes for Peter as well.

Having at one time totally denounced the idea, Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson is now floating the idea of vaccine passports. While I have no objection to them myself, I do see the main plus side as being no rowdy teenagers in pubs.

What a fuss about nothing. In my experience, pubs have regulars, and drinkers have locals. Any passport will be checked once, and won't need to have an expiry date. Then it's back to normal.

I ain't getting a vaccine just to be allowed in somewhere. I'll either get a fake passport or boycott the establishment. I already boycott any shop which insists I wear a mask.

Good news. From: https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2021/p0329-COVID-19-Vaccines.html
A new CDC study provides strong evidence that mRNA COVID-19 vaccines are highly effective in preventing SARS-CoV-2 infections in real-world conditions among health care personnel, first responders, and other essential workers. These groups are more likely than the general population to be exposed to the virus because of their occupations.

The study looked at the effectiveness of Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna mRNA vaccines in preventing SARS-CoV-2 infections among 3,950 study participants in six states over a 13-week period from December 14, 2020 to March 13, 2021.

Results showed that following the second dose of vaccine (the recommended number of doses), risk of infection was reduced by 90 percent two or more weeks after vaccination. Following a single dose of either vaccine, the participants’ risk of infection with SARS-CoV-2 was reduced by 80 percent two or more weeks after vaccination.

None of those tested died.
