Fusion thanks to 'ai'?
I think the writer is referring to deep learning here?

What projects are working on boinc that help solve fusion?
I know LHC is doing other projects.

Scientists have been saying power from nuclear fusion is going to be a reality in about ten to fifteen years for the past 60 years or more!

From the concept videos, they had it running in the 1970s.
Their main issue was that they weren't located in California, the then military intelligence state. So the government chose to grant another project the funds (we now know as nuclear power plants, using uranium).

Once they dug up the old plans of the fusion reactor,
The main issue they were having now, was because they designed to run the system using liquid salt (salt heated to 900f or something, becomes liquid) as a carrier (lubricant) instead of using steam.
Salt is highly corrosive, making the design of the plant, and the maintenance ridiculously high.

Instead, the Germans and the Chinese are building several fusion plants, which are based on lead instead of salt.

It seems to me like this might become viable in my own lifetime!
