More things to keep you busy on rainy or overly hot days: https://maps.nls.uk/

Waste of time.

The National Library of Scotland have been increasing the range of the maps they've digitised. Very interesting to see how an are has developed over the years.
Where I am just now it was open farm land, then a few coal mines and supporting industries, and now is predominately housing with a few mahoosive logistics warehouses. There were only a few roads and a few railway lines, but now there are lots of roads and only two railways.

Today's high temperature around here is predicted to be about 38C.
...and the weather forecast for tomorrow now includes thunder storms from mid afternoon and into evening (after an even hotter morning and early afternoon).

(I might set up a time-lapse camera and see what I can capture - probably just rain and clouds knowing my luck)

For that sort of thing, I have done better with motion detect than time lapse.

Here tonight the minimum according to Met office is 23C. peak today 37C, tomorrow 39C. (40 and 41C from BBC but minimum tonight an Arctic blast of only 20C.)

There is a phone app for most Android phones. My Canon 7D doesn't have it unfortunately. Though with a bluetooth adaptor, I might be able to get it to work with phone.

At the moment, I am spending time playing with a set of three extension rings to play iwth macro photography.

Welcome to the new world and its associated dictionary:
https://www.merriam-webster.com/

Look up: and find

female: having a gender identity that is the opposite of male
girl: a person whose gender identity is female
male: having a gender identity that is the opposite of female
boy: a child whose gender identity is male

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/gender%20identity
a person's internal sense of being male, female, some combination of male and female, or neither male nor female.

I'm getting too old for this.

I don't have a problem with that. After all, I'm a fish.
We even have a Sturgeon as leader of a main political party. :-)

In other news, we have a Dutch national show the men how to win games in an international tournament.
She's totally ruthless. Nice one Sarina.

Well, it is haunting me now. I posted it to my ex, as a passing comment. She (but not) wrote back to me that I should grow up and then dropped into my lap that she (but not) was transgender, transmasculine non-binary and would go by a different name from now on, plus the pronouns he/they/them/theirs.

I'm honestly not sure how to react. We lived together a lot of years. I never noticed anything during that time. I'm confused. And yes, I know, I make this about me, but that's because I genuinely do not know what to do here, although I do know this is going to keep me up for quite some time. I wish he didn't drop this in my lap. 🤯

I'm no relationship expert but if that was my ex, friend, etc making such comments I would just ignore 'them' and the comments.

I've just sent them (they? In Dutch the language gets completely raped by wrong pronouns, if I would've written such in my school work, I'd never have gotten good grades, but these days kids with severe language problems get 7s (out of 10) easily.) an email in which I asked if they was (See?) proud of the way they notified me of this transition they were going through. Last week I'd visited her (when she was def still she) but not a peep. No "I've got something personal to tell you". Nothing. From someone I've lived with for 18 years, that's a cold cold shoulder.

And now it's all accusations of me being able to ask all the insensitive questions I must have and when I say I don't have any, I'm a liar.

I've just sent them

English is weird, to put it mildly!
"them" can be used both in the singular and plural; as a pronoun for a person of unknown gender; or for a company or organisation; or for someone who's gender you don't want to use (a few more esoteric uses).
Much the same applies to "their" & "they".

Sounds more like she is still a she, but sympathetic to the trans community. She was offended at your link, and is trying to get back at you by making it more personal.
