What D-word is so bad?

Struggling with that too.

In our local Faceache group the things getting people banned, posts deleted etc. are far more nasty than anything I have seen here.

Damn is very very rude in the bible belt of the USA apparently. Hence they say darn.

Should have gotten that. Clearly too much blood in my caffeine system.

caffeine is a stimulant. alcohol is a depressant. opposite ends of the spectrum.

While this is a GPU subforum, Peter Hucker is the OP of this thread, and he's the one who goes off topic;
Though he doesn't take it to any other topics.

The Lounge might be a better place to talk about the weather and climate change, coronavirus, politics and what not.

As far as risers, I think we've pretty much exhausted the conversation; unless anything else needs to be added?

Alcohol is also a stimulant, I think you're getting confused with the medical term "depressant" which actually does exactly the opposite of making you feel depressed! What a doctor calls a depressant, actually relieves depression, and perks you up, just like caffeine. If you feel low or tired, coffee or alcohol will both get you going.

As for mixing them, no, I can think of many things more potent than caffeine to use instead, they tend to grow under bright UV lights in the attic. I've never once noticed a slight change in me whatsoever using caffeine. Either I'm immune to it or it's a con.

I'm intending to use the term depressant in the medical sense. I know what it means. it depresses your nervous system. both terms (stimulant/depressant) were used correctly to describe the respective substances.
