I noticed recently that this has appeared next to my posts.

I certainly don't view myself as this. Perhaps for those of us who dabble but have been doing so for a long time Long Service and Good Conduct Medal would be more appropriate?

Yea, happened to me too here. At DVDFab I posted CUDA BluRay movie "rip" times for various NVidia boards and became their first "Knowledgebase Contributor". Not sure if that was a good idea but I think I am still allowed one backup for each movie I buy.

Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, you can only receive one of them if your crimes are undetected.

You also need to avoid getting fitted up for something you are innocent of.

It just means I'm going to PM you more often asking for official response, since you're now the official Boinc helpdesk ;)

I wonder how many unanswered PM's it takes to fill up the servers?

I added code "Volunteer help desk amateur" into my profile to allow me to make mistakes on my answers. It works well. In fact I see now that my previous expert title has vanished.

I giveth the title to those I deem worthy of it, if you help enough around the Q&P forum or the other forums outside of The Lounge.
I also taketh away the title from those who no longer help out, have taken a hiatus, or those who don't want it. Usually these approach me via PM, but since that's apparently a big no no, consider your titles revoked through answering in this thread. It's an honorary title and if you don't want it, soit, poof, it's gone.
