I have my Computing Preferences set to "Suspend when computer is on battery" but sometimes, even though my laptop is plugged in, BOINC shows "Computing is suspended - on batteries." This might be something new with Windows 10. If my laptop is 100% charged it shows as "Fully Charged" not "Charging". I think BOINC will only run when it is "Charging". Anyone else experiencing this? BOINC version 7.14.2 and BOINC is running as a Windows service. |

I haven't experienced this. I've run a laptop with Windows 10 and I'm sure the battery was charging and not charging but still computing. I've also had a laptop with Windows 7 with a bad battery (as in, not charging at all, only running off the AC adapter), but it would compute just fine. Just curious, what are your power settings at in Windows? |

Two possible things. One of my laptops has an "over eager" charger plugged in detector - it will report the charger not being plugged in even when it is (and it is charging!). My solution is to unplug the charger and plug it back in. The other is that some change has been made in the sensor/charger system (within Windows) that reports "charger not plugged in" when actually it means "charger plugged in, but not charging". |

I'm guessing BOINC reads the status of battery or A/C power like it does if the PC is idle or not. BOINC doesn't know if the PC is idle, the OS does and BOINC reads it. So I'm guessing A/C vs battery might be the same thing. |

I think it was actually a problem with the BOINC system tray icon saying computing was suspended but actually the tasks were running... I haven't been able to reproduce it again now since I posted. |
