MVSDude Send message Joined: 8 May 19 Posts: 2	Message 91443 - Posted: 8 May 2019, 18:39:38 UTC Howdy, I'm getting messages on my Win10 BOINC client of a "hung download" (translate: hasn't downloaded in 2 days, and no other downloads of real project work are happening, empty Project list) of what looks like a WC control file. The log messages are: 5/8/2019 1:14:54 PM \| World Community Grid \| Started download of wcgrid_hst1_gromacs_7.26_windows_x86_64 5/8/2019 1:14:55 PM \| World Community Grid \| Temporarily failed download of wcgrid_hst1_gromacs_7.26_windows_x86_64: transient HTTP error 5/8/2019 1:14:55 PM \| World Community Grid \| Backing off 00:28:39 on download of wcgrid_hst1_gromacs_7.26_windows_x86_64 5/8/2019 1:14:55 PM \| \| Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site 5/8/2019 1:14:56 PM \| \| Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down. Abort Transfer usually opens the flood gates to new work, but eventually this file tries to download again, hangs, and the client runs out of work. This has happened on multiple Win10 machines for me, all running V7.14.2 (x64). Any thoughts, aside from a Project reset? -james ID: 91443 ·

Use the <http_debug> Event Log option (Ctrl+Shift+F from BOINC Manager) to find out exactly what sort of "transient HTTP error" is being reported. I'm not quite understanding what I'm seeing - just that the connection is getting reset in the middle of the file transfer.
