We will service this Linux kernel through Windows updates, which means you will get the latest security fixes and kernel improvements without needing to manage it yourself. So if BOINC were to dump VirtualBox in favour of the VM in W10, we'd be telling everyone that older Windows versions are no longer welcome. Aside from that, even on Linux/MacOS some projects require VirtualBox because they like to send their own Linux version to run their apps on. ID: 91453 ·
