We will service this Linux kernel through Windows updates, which means you will get the latest security fixes and kernel improvements without needing to manage it yourself. Exactly why I run Linux and use WINE to run BOINC when no Linux work available and the occasional Windows prog. ID: 91438 ·

So if BOINC were to dump VirtualBox in favour of the VM in W10, we'd be telling everyone that older Windows versions are no longer welcome. Aside from that, even on Linux/MacOS some projects require VirtualBox because they like to send their own Linux version to run their apps on. ID: 91453 ·
