UPDATE..... I have an older PC (Same version of Linux) that I have not updated in a while, so I tried to recreate the problem, before and after updates. Before updates: backspace and delete work. After Updates: backspace and delete work. BUT this computer is a '386' architecture. from Boinc Log at startup: Tue 23 Apr 2019 12:30:58 PM EDT | | Starting BOINC client version 7.9.3 for i686-pc-linux-gnu Tue 23 Apr 2019 12:30:58 PM EDT | | log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task Tue 23 Apr 2019 12:30:58 PM EDT | | Libraries: libcurl/7.58.0 OpenSSL/1.1.0g zlib/1.2.11 libidn2/2.0.4 libpsl/0.19.1 (+libidn2/2.0.4) nghttp2/1.30.0 librtmp/2.3 Tue 23 Apr 2019 12:30:58 PM EDT | | Data directory: /var/lib/boinc-client Tue 23 Apr 2019 12:30:58 PM EDT | | No usable GPUs found Tue 23 Apr 2019 12:30:58 PM EDT | | [libc detection] gathered: 2.27, Ubuntu GLIBC 2.27-3ubuntu1 Tue 23 Apr 2019 12:30:58 PM EDT | | Host name: pc-mini Tue 23 Apr 2019 12:30:58 PM EDT | | Processor: 2 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU N270 @ 1.60GHz [Family 6 Model 28 Stepping 2] Tue 23 Apr 2019 12:30:58 PM EDT | | Processor features: fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm pbe nx constant_tsc arch_perfmon pebs bts cpuid aperfmperf pni dtes64 monitor ds_cpl est tm2 ssse3 xtpr pdcm movbe lahf_lm dtherm Tue 23 Apr 2019 12:30:58 PM EDT | | OS: Linux Ubuntu: Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS [4.15.0-47-generic|libc 2.27 (Ubuntu GLIBC 2.27-3ubuntu1)] Tue 23 Apr 2019 12:30:58 PM EDT | | Memory: 483.08 MB physical, 996.00 MB virtual Tue 23 Apr 2019 12:30:58 PM EDT | | Disk: 5.64 GB total, 850.02 MB free Perplexing.. I can confirm that I have seen this before so it isn't just you. Problem not present with either of my machines running BOINC7.14.2 under Ubuntu19.04 either the native Linux one or the Windows one under WINE so I wonder if it is specific to your version of BOINC? |

Dave, Thanks for your reply!!! The problem first started after a linux (Ubuntu Mate) update - so it started on the same version of BOINC ((boinc-manager and boinc-client). I neglected to mention that the left and right arrow (cursor move_ and tab did not work either. I had some more updates today and I retested - same visible results - but the boint-manager crashed. Only one entry in syslog: Apr 24 13:04:57 pc-14 kernel: [ 1324.751556] traps: boincmgr[2518] trap int3 ip:7fa9593e9ea1 sp:7fff92a90350 error:0 in libglib-2.0.so.0.5600.4[7fa959398000+114000] "Whoopsie" made a detailed report. I'll try to include screenshots in a dropbox, or... soon I'll finish current WU, and try newer BOIC and Ubuntu Mate. (I was on a long-trm support version.) [edited] Should I look into a problem report? Or, do you think one already exists? OBTW, only 1 GPU and 3 of 8 CPU were active. CPU temp about 50C. Thanks again!! Jay Thanks again, Jay |

Arghh. I forgot "dropbox" is not what I am looking for. What is the public folder (URL) on an Ubuntu server where I can upload (global permission) of screen shots of the Whoopsie report? I could not copy the text from the report... Thanks Jay |
