This was reported in another thread which is now locked or I would have responded to that one. I can confirm this is an issue even when the installation option to allow all users to control BOINC is selected. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of BOINC. Is there any way to figure out why this is happening. It's a real pain since everyone has to remember to log out of the computer every time and if anyone forgets, the next person is hosed since BOINC continues to run.

I don't see a work around of the security sandbox that causes this. The issue is BOINC is started by user Q. He walks away and the computer isn't being used by user Q, even if user S logs on and does things. The BOINC program that detects keyboard/mouse activity is only able to see user Q's activity because it is running in the snadbox for user Q. If it was able to see user S then it could be a keylogger and that is a much bigger issue!

You work around is to have the O/S auto log out users after a period of inactivity.
