Sound like Goofyxgrid is down and out of commission until further notice Per Goofyxgrid post at BOINCStats forums: GoofyxGrid@home - a disaster Posted Today at 06:49:12 I do not know what I deserve for all this. Durring standard update on servers which I was planning, I had a power surge and lost about 70% of all equipment I have got. |

If it wasn't for bad luck, he would have no luck at all! |

If you have a telephone line connected to any piece of equipment (not so common these days), get rid of it. They are the most vulnerable to lightning strikes, if that is what caused the surge. After a strike that took out some minor equipment (a phone, modem and home network gear) several years ago, I put surge protectors on all my equipment and disconnected all phone lines. The series-type surge protectors are the good ones, not the shunt varistor type on the power strips that can do more harm than good by merely shunting the surge onto the ground conductor rather that blocking it entirely. https://zerosurge.com/ |
