Hope it's nice & sunny for you. :-) I only suggested that because I have been caught up in there. It has been known to last some considerable time before clearing & with the following day... |

I can cancel my return trip to within 24 hours before, and am sure that if it so happens that there are unforeseen circumstances that when I call the ferry company that we can come to an agreement. But thank you very much for the warning. |

Surely that is the domain of CPDN rather than SETI? |

Not only the tide tables, but also the sea state - Mersea Island does tend to get "rather damp" if the tide and sea state have a bit of tiff.... |

You might think that the Razorbill's departure might have been scheduled for the convenience of booked passengers. Or does the Razorbill need high tide, while the passengers need low tide? Six hours in the souvenir shop to match the two up? |

I can swim, not too fazed about a little water. |

Most people don't trickle down to Essex - they RUN AWAY from Essex....It's where I first washed ashore :) Essex. Tilbury to be exact. I didn't stay longer than it took me to leave, but perhaps that news never got out to a wide enough audience...? ;) |

UK Outlook for Saturday 2 Mar 2019 to Saturday 16 Mar 2019:More and better offerings to all the deities! |

Weather forecasts are tricky things. Sometimes "northern and western parts" means Scotland and Wales, sometimes it means here. Actually, I think 'here' has a micro-climate all of its own, which doesn't appear in any forecast. I'll try to work out which deity is in charge - possibly Rombald the Giant, though I'm not sure if he's been elevated yet. |

Two more weeks... and still don't know what I am going to do for my second week. Or where I'll have my meet & greet with those of you who want to come prick me with blunt knives. Some of you with extra sharp knives. So please, throw out your ideas. Remember that I don't know where all of you come from so what is a good place somewhere in the middle? Or don't you want to meet me? Is it just Richard, Annie, Rob and me? Cos then we can go to the movies and have a Mickey Dee afterwards, before I put everyone back on the train. |

Time to slaughter your best poultry, sheep or goat and give their entrails as offering to your favorite deity: Monday 4 Mar - Monday 18 Mar |

You'll be pleased to hear that my house was built somewhere around 1850, when builders still built from (very tough) natural materials, and were in tune with the local geography. So, it's not on the flood plain at the bottom of the hill. It's not in the teeth of the gale at the top of the hill. It's not facing the prevailing winds from the West. It did have a good clear view of last year's Beast from the East approaching up the valley - but with the dry air from that direction, the snowdrifts were easily managed. So, bring on your worst! |

Time to slaughter your best poultry, sheep or goat and give their entrails as offering to your favorite deityehm... would a butternut squash do? It makes a good soup, amongst other things and I could fling the seeds, I don't know, mystically into a wind or something...? |

I don't think the old deities are vegan, although you can try. If it then means I'm snowed in with the other bearded person, I know who to blame. ;-) |

Thanks to Andy for the answer, I hope you find a way. The other person I PM'ed apparently hasn't seen that or isn't interested. No hard feelings. One more week. I have seen that the weather's going to be wind and rain, rain and wind. Well, I asked for no snow, so that's what I get. :) Now trying to find a rain coat. The navigation thingy I had in mind won't work. The bracelet I bought for it cannot easily be attached to my dashboard, not without it being attached on top of an airbag. In the middle of the dashboard I have unexpected ridges in the way of where I have to stick the bottom plate. I know, I have another week to try to fix that, but without grinding down the ridges, I wouldn't know how. My head's not really at it either, so I think I'll just bring the tablet for watching Netflix. If the tablet is coming, as I am looking into rooting it and putting a third party ROM on it. Reading XDA Developer forums though I have seen they've got problems with that, with the tablet going into a reboot loop if you do that. So I'll have to wait for them to fix that. Got my insurance, I can now fall off a nearby hill. Drive into a lamp post. Etc. :) |

If anywhere near (two-three hours by public transport) to Cambridge might be interested. Entrails of two muntjac deer (roadkill I picked up) buried in garden last year if that counts? If I get a few more, I might even get good enough to keep the skin in good enough condition to use! As to the weather, my bees have been very active past few days bringing in lots of pollen which means their numbers will be building up nice and early for the oil seed rape which sadly is a very bland and boring tasting honey. |

If anywhere near (two-three hours by public transport) to Cambridge might be interested.I'll have to be in West Mersea on the 17th, which from the Leeds area brings me through that neck of the woods. Annie asked for Chelmsford, which is within your time frame. So I think I'll have to find myself some place to stay for a day or two, three in that neighborhood. But will leave it to you Brits to come up with a suitable place, as you know the area. And how long it'll take you with PT to get to places. Edit: I can of course tell CPDN that I'm in their neck of the woods, to see if they're interested to see me. A sort of BOINC Jordshop. :) |
