I probably missed something, but I have a question, my Boinc version 7.12.1 no longer will show graphics of the projects its computing. What can I do to see the graphics again? Do I have to upgrade to 7.14.1? if that's the reason, I don't know if I want to, because I tried to go to this new version of Boinc last month and Boinc was removed totally and wouldn't reinstall any version for a month before I got help last week and got it back. Thanks for any input.

Most likely because there aren't any graphics programmed into the tasks you are running. CPDN stopped using graphics a while ago. If you have the sensors for it Quake catcher network still has graphics. I know a couple of other projects do but I can't remember what they are.

Sorry Dave, but I think you might have misunderstood that, or did I?. The way I read it is that Arkynut used to see graphics of the project in computing but he can no longer see it. Admittedly, he did not say which projects he is referring to but to assume your own answer on the fact provided is not helpful to a guy who might not even express himself in English as well as you "most likely because there aren't any graphics programmed into the task you are running". How do you know that he referred to a project that he used to see graphics and now he does not? In other words it is quick assumption without further check.

Okay, my fault for not giving enough information, before when I ran Seti@home, or climateprediction, Einstein@home, these projects had the ability to show graphics, but now they do not and I remember Boinc saying something year or so ago about this but I cannot remember at this time. But these did at one time show graphics.

If you are running SETI's optimised applications then there are no graphics, also most (all?) of their more recent GPU applications don't have graphics either.
I can't comment on other projects.

My bad. Yes it was even if correct an unwarranted assumption.

My understanding for CPDN is that the person who programmed the graphics and had a particular interested in it is no longer with the project. It was particularly useful with the long computation times then in helping determine if a task had got stuck in a loop. I haven't had that happen with any of the recent task types.

As Dave said, cpdn no longer has graphics. None of the programs used for about the last 8-10 years have had any.

And, in general, you have to get the display drivers from the card makers, and NOT use the useless ones supplied with Windows.
Which may mean re-installing them after each Windows update.
